Jean Gregory's nursing skills and medical supplies could not much help the small African country, torn as it was by civil war and terrorized by a blood-crazed dictator. But the beautiful English nurse was determined to try. And when American engineer Stephen Retz proposed a daring plan to hijack a train and bring food supplies to the mountains, she boldly joined him.
But conspiracy and betrayal smothered their plans. Captured by guerillas, Jean and Stephen were forced into a coup against the dreaded dictator Flora - alive only as long as they were useful. It became all too clear that if they didn't attempt the treacherous escape before their job was done, they never would.
